This was definitely the best installment in the series so far! It was a mix of dark, post-apocalyptic fantasy, with science fiction and mystery. It was packed with action, chapter even better than the last, and that cliffhanger ending, oh my God, I had to start reading Wizard and Glass right away

In this book, we learn a lot more about Mid-World, about what happened to it, the changes after it “moved on”. We now know how advanced the civilization on Roland’s world was, with cyborgs, supersonic trains and AIs. But all these had degenerated, even the laws of physics, time and distance are not always the same.
“What is Mid-World?” Eddie asked.
“One of the large kingdoms which dominated the earth in the times before these. A kingdom of hope and knowledge and light—the sort of things we were trying to hold on to in my land before the darkness overtook us, as well. Some day if there’s time, I’ll tell you all the old stories . . . the ones I know, at least. They form a large tapestry, one which is beautiful but very sad."

** SPOILERS **
Jake comes back in this book! His drawing was my absolute favorite. All the previous tension, how Roland and Jake himself were increasingly crazy, their minds divided because of the paradox created when Roland saved his life during the events in The Drawing of the Three.
Jake is my favorite character in the series, and now Oy the billy-bumbler just stole my heart too! He was totally adorable, and for a moment I thought King might kill him, I almost cried!
** END OF SPOILERS **

I don’t know what else to say, I’m loving the series, I’m planning to read the last four books in the series this year (actually, listen to the audio books, Frank Muller is awesome, I’m sure I wouldn’t enjoy the books this much if I was reading the books instead). So, that’s it for now, stay tuned for more reviews of this kind!
