Este libro no fue tan fácil de leer no sólo porque estaba en inglés sino también por la temática. Mi opinión está en inglés:
1984 by George Orwell is the story of Winston in a dystopian society where the Big Brother is watching every minute of the day and there are three important ministries with specific functions to have a controlled society. The Ministry of Truth or Minitrue, the Ministry of Peace or Minipax, and the Ministry of Love or Miniplenty.
Another important trait in this nation is the use of Newspeak which its vocabulary gets smaller every year since they have the idea of reducing the range of thought, the range of consciousness gets smaller too.
The control of news and history knowledge is essential to make true facts from lies. The past must be erased, and the erasure must be forgotten.
Winston thinks if there is hope for this civilization, he believes in the proles as the only hope to change. However, poverty and ignorance are required in this kind of society to keep the proles away from the truth.
1984 made me think that conspiracies are not so far from our real lifestyle since our world is changing and we're in way to a new style of living.
