The British psychotherapist uses her metaphor of an orchid and a dandelion; two very different flowers that show us how different children and their ways of adapting to the world can be. “With a dandelion, you might be able to say ‘Goodnight,' and they go to sleep by themselves. A supersensitive child might want you to lie down with them until they're asleep,” explains the author.
