I was pleasantly surprised by The Guest List by Lucy Foley. Even though I'm usually not a fan of books that tell their story from multiple points of view, I found myself invested in the characters and their stories.

The novel is set at a lavish wedding on a small island off the coast of Ireland. The five main characters each have secrets and grievances that could threaten the unity of the wedding. The atmosphere is gossipy and dramatic, and quickly a body is found outside in the storm. As the novel unfolds, the reader is given snippets of the present, while the other chapters detail the events of the day before, leading up to the reveal of the victim and the culprit.

I was drawn to the stories of the characters and their inner insecurities, particularly the main three narrators. It was interesting to be privy to all the shittalk and gossip about the characters and to watch how it all unfolded.

The Guest List is a thrilling read, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Foley managed to create characters that I cared about and invested in, even though I usually don't enjoy stories told from multiple points of view. It was also a clever move by Foley to make the mystery not only about who the culprit is, but also who the victim is.

Overall, I would definitely recommend The Guest List to anyone looking for a fast-paced, thrilling read with a clever mystery and interesting characters.

Me sorprendió gratamente The Guest List de Lucy Foley. Aunque normalmente no soy fanático de los libros que cuentan su historia desde múltiples puntos de vista, me encontré involucrado en los personajes y sus historias.

La novela está ambientada en una lujosa boda en una pequeña isla frente a la costa de Irlanda. Cada uno de los cinco personajes principales tiene secretos y agravios que podrían amenazar la unidad de la boda. El ambiente es chismoso y dramático, y rápidamente se encuentra un cuerpo afuera en medio de la tormenta. A medida que se desarrolla la novela, el lector recibe fragmentos del presente, mientras que los otros capítulos detallan los eventos del día anterior, que conducen a la revelación de la víctima y el culpable.

Me atrajeron las historias de los personajes y sus inseguridades internas, particularmente los tres narradores principales. Fue interesante estar al tanto de toda la mierda y los chismes sobre los personajes y ver cómo se desarrollaba todo.
