** spoiler alert ** Shafak's 2020 book is an essay to turn us to reflect about our posture before, when and after lockdown. Our thoughts that involve feelings such as anger and loneliness and the importance of being heard and being willing to listen others since we are social beings. The relevance of telling stories for they get us together; everyone is a multitude of stories and we continue creating more stories. In this age when everything should be fast, we do not consider patience or long answers. This is the time to realize if we want things will be the same as they were before pandemic or think of future generations to have a much better future. She remembers her childhood and motherland in Turkey; that comparison between a place and glasses is fascinating: motherlands and glasses will cut you deep; it does not matter where you go, you take with you a little piece of them. Feelings are developed in different sections such as anxiety, anger, and apathy. The last one is considered a combination of many emotions and according to the author, the most dangerous. There are pieces of advice for our world of this TICs era. I will consider getting less information, more knowledge and much more wisdom. Where can we find knowledge? Reading books. Where can we get wisdom? Through stories and storytelling. All in all, I highly recommend it if you are looking for positive thoughts in such difficult times.
