I really hated most of the previous book, specially every single chapter about Lila, I just can't stand her. I only gave it two stars out of five, for the White London chapters, and Holland's story-line.
Luckily for us (or at least for me), this book was less about the super-awesome-badass Lila 🙄, and more about Osaron, Holland, the dying of White London, etc.

The writing was fine, nothing remarkable. I don't pay too much attention to that, when the story is good. But in this case, the lack of a good plot made it even more obvious. The author must have realized she exaggerated Lila's quarrelsome character, because she wasn't as annoying as she was in the previous installment. The rest of the characters are not well defined, I never cared for any of them, except for Holland, the only thing the author did right in this series.
The pacing was good at least, there was plenty of action.

In the end, it was mildly satisfactory. The good ones had everything they needed to defeat Osaron easily handed to them, the ending was open to continue exploiting this universe (which I don't plan to continue reading, ever), and like I said before, the only interesting thing about the story was ended quickly and poorly, leaving White London and its future for another book, probably.
So, if you ask me, I don't recommend this series, at all, sorry Schwab!
