It was completely natural.” ― Megan, Calamity ✎ The final installment in the Reckoners series was as funny as the other two, despite what happened to Prof. David's character is the soul of it, of course. In this book our heroes will try to find Prof's weakness, so they can force him face it and push the darkness out of him, as Megan proved was possible. The team will head to a city named Ildithia, ruled by a group of Epics known as the Coven, where Prof is now following some grand plan Regalia left for him.They will find an unexpected ally on their way, someone who will help them solve the mystery of how motivators work. ✎ Opinion: I loved it! I wasn't convinced when I read Steelheart, I felt the worldbuilding was too weak, but then it expanded in Firefight, and the character grew in very different ways, and I knew this series would be awesome. Now, in Calamity, Sanderson opens a door to a whole new universe. Actually, I've read many reviews criticizing this very fact. The series plot closes just fine, but there are a lot of unanswered questions about Calamity, and about the parallels realities Megan can reach with her powers, which is more exploited in this book. On the contrary, what happens at the end left a lot of new unanswered questions. Well, maybe it's due to the fact that I already knew there would be a new series in this world, The Apocalypse Guard, when I read Calamity, but this didn't bother me at all.
