Talking as fast as I can

Lauren Graham es la actriz que interpreta a Lorelai Gilmore en "Las chicas Gilmore", la madre de Rory e hija de una familia cuyos valores distan mucho de los suyos. Lauren Graham, además de actriz, es escritora y ha publicado tres libros, el segundo de ellos es este libro de memorias o ensayos autobiográficos.

Lauren es tan divertida, graciosa y mordaz como su personaje. Leerla es como escuchar a Lorelai hablando rapidísimo en la serie. En el libro cuenta cómo fue su camino para convertirse en actriz, como consiguió el papel de Lorelai, su relación con el mundo de la moda, etc. Sin embargo, para mí y para cualquier fan de la serie, lo más bonito ha sido leer sus comentarios al hacer una maratón de las siete temporadas de la serie y, un diario de rodaje de "Las cuatro estaciones de las Chicas Gilmore".

Las Chicas Gilmore es mi lugar feliz, la serie que me pongo cuando estoy triste y la que veo cuando estoy contenta. En realidad, es la serie que me ha acompañado en los últimos cinco años, cuyas temporadas he visto ya dos veces.

Este libro me ha hecho sentir un poco lo mismo, como estar calentita en tu cuarto en un día de lluvia, como llegar a casa después de un día de mierda, ponerte el pijama y prepararte un café, como quedar con tu amiga después de semanas sin verla y hablar sin parar.

No quiero contar mucho más pero les voy a dejar el último párrafo del primer capítulo, que me hizo soltar unas lagrimillas en la guagua:

"I wondered what it would be like to put someone I loved so much down for eight years and then pick her up again. I wondered if rebooting Gilmore Girls could be as gratifying as doing the series was the first time, if the show would feel as fresh and quirky and smart and speedy as it had been, if returning to Stars Hollow after all those years would be as wonderful as I'd dream it would be.

Leer está autobiografía y repaso temporada por temporada de Gilmore Girls y su reboot es Como escuchar a Lauren hablar. Si, así de bueno.
Dice que por primera vez se sentó a ver las 7 temporadas de la serie y de cada una comenta lo mejor, moda y estilo, curiosidades... Y, por supuesto habla de cómo fue volver a Star Hollow.
E, igual que yo y todos los que vimos "A Year in the Life" insiste con qué no termina con un final, eso es un CLIFF HANGER!!! Muy linda lectura.

I declare a true fan of Gilmore Girls, I loved Lauren Graham's character in the series. But, after reading Talking as fast as I can and watching the fist and a half seasons of Parenthood I declare a fan of Lauren Graham, period.

Talking as fast as I can was, in a new strange way, a new form of re-living the Gilmore Girls. Now I can tell HOW MUCH Lauren's personality is in Lorelai and how much she brings to the table with her interpretation.
Loving the everything in between too. Lauren talks about friends, and co-workers, and her love life, and so many things in so little that it may seem a fast forward but it really gives us a general idea of her career path without says too much or interrupting her privacy.

What I really liked about the book cover chapter is: there are people that know what they are doing, they have valid opinions and ideas. And somehow, that ideas may be more accurate to what you want that what you are actually demanding.

I don't konw, I just really enyoed this one.
Gilmore Gils' lovers will also love it, but I'm guessing that if you are one of those who really enjoy memoirs and funny-easy-going-books this will work for you too!
