4,5/5 What did you do Cassandra Clare? What did you do to my heart? This is too much for me, I don't know where to start. I have to admit this is only the second book I read by her (please don't kill me). I've read City of Ashes like 10 years ago and I enjoyed it but not enough to make me continue with the series. Since then I've been avoiding Shadowhunters world until now that I've joined a buddy-reading and we decided to pick Lady Midnight. And I have to say thank you to my buddy-readers for suggest this book because thanks to them I've discovered an amazing book and probably an amazing world. I've fallen in love with all the characters in this book. My favorites were Ty (I relate to him sometimes), Cristina and Mark but all of them have a place in my heart. However, what I loved the most was the racial and sexual diversity portrayed in it. Cristina is a latina woman and Magnus Bane an oriental man. There are gay, lesbian, bisexual and I'd say pansexual characters. I think this representation is essential in YA books. And the ending??? I have no words to describe it. I want more, I need more. I'll read the other Shadowhunters series now definetely. |
